Simulation tool for Modbus networks

Modbus Poll is the trial version development tool for IT and networking professionals. This network utility from Witte Software allows you to simulate a Modbus-driven network, complete with features to help you configure, control, and monitor slaves. With a dedicated window for every Modbus slave device, you can easily keep track of their performance in your virtual network.

For new users, using this Modbus Poll can be a bit challenging, but it will prove helpful for engineers and administrators everywhere, with integration and export options as well. Complete your Modbus toolkit with the Modbus Slave and Modbus Master tools.

Streamline your Modbus simulations

Modbus Poll is a tool for simulating the capacity and performance of a Modbus master, a control device built on the Modbus serial communication protocol. This is particularly useful for a wide range of industrial automation applications, such as those used in PLC or SCADA. As mentioned, every corresponding slave device opens up a new window with distinct specifications, making it easy to track each of them.

Despite being a demo version, you get to enjoy its full protocol support. From industry standard remote terminal unit (RTU) connections to ASCII over UDP/IP, this range of protocol support lets you simulate different conditions and setups. It also comes with an OLE Automation capability to easily extract record logs into Microsoft Excel through macro programming. It also has different data format supports.

In this trial version, however, you have a time limit. Every session is limited to a 10-minute connection timer. After that, it disconnects and you’ll have to restart the app again. Also, there is a learning curve to this app. Newcomers to the Modbus protocol might need some time to get used to the interface, especially since it can feel different without the actual hardware.

A helpful automation tool

If you’re planning to design an industrial control system, using Modbus Poll will save you a lot of time and resources as it lets you simulate various conditions and scenarios. Even in its trial version, you get to wield its full power with the protocol and file type supports. While the 10-minute restriction on connections feels harsh, it doesn’t diminish the value you get from this software.

Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
